Lyrics of This is My Country

There was one song "This is My Country" that had a great impact on me while I was in school being educated in primary and secondary schools in the USA. It provided me with emotional feelings and attachments that I belonged to the USA when ever I sang the song. I believed that the ancestors of every African slave that was force to go to America through the conspiracy of the Power Elites want to belong and share in the American dream in owning real estate listings. Many of African Americans were brainwashed to emulate European cultures while they were raised in hostile lands.

In accord to Franklin Frazer book The Black Bourgeoisie African Americans emulated White Americans in every respect. We emulated them economically, socially, psychologically. One economic jargon that sort depict our behavior is pecuniary emulation. That term means keeping up with the Jones which is an expression that speaks to Neighbors in a community consuming what ever their next door neighbors consume in a competitive manner.

The following is lyrics of the song:

"This is my country! Land of my birth!
This is my country! Grandest on earth!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country to have and to hold.

What diff'rence if I hail from North or South
Or from the East or West?
My heart is filled with love for all of these.
I only know I swell with pride and deep within my breast
I thrill to see Old Glory paint the breeze.

With hand upon heart I thank the Lord For this my native land,
For all I love is here within her gates.
My sould is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand,
For these are mine own United States.

This is my country! Land of my choice!
This is my country! Hear my proud voice!
I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold,
For this is my country! To have and to hold."
